Staff, partners, directors, business associates, sponsors and guests attended the sixth Radstock Co-operative Society’s annual gala awards evening on 17th May 2014 at the Bath Pavilion.
Chief Executive, Don Morris addressed the audience and thanked all staff for their efforts and contributions during what had been another challenging year in the retail sector. Despite this and the problems encountered by the National Co-operative, the Society had still managed to deliver a profit adding to shareholders’ funds whilst continuing to invest in its retail estate through acquisition and refits.
The after dinner activity was an Oscar-style award ceremony recognised individuals and teams in a number of categories such as customer excellence, best performing store, award for greatest improvement, best business support colleague, award for greatest community involvement, manager of the year etc.
Invited guests included representatives from the two member elected charities of the year, The First Radstock Scouts Group and WISH (Working in support of Holidays for the Disabled). With proceeds from the raffle, sponsorship and donations from the Society, the Gala evening raised over £2,000 of which the two chosen charities were each presented with cheques for £500 at the newly refurbished Radco store this Monday, 16th June 2014.
