Every year in June, members who attend the Society’s AGM are invited to vote on which charity or good causes they would like to support during the year. The votes were counted and Julia’s House Children’ Hospice was one of the causes selected to receive support for the 2019/2020 financial year.
Julia’s House provides care to babies, children and young people with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions and support to their families. Their nurses and carers work in the community, in their hospices and in homes across Wiltshire providing frequent and regular short breaks for parents and social opportunities for the whole family. The care that Julia’s House provides is available 365 days a year and is free of charge. When the worst happens, Julia’s House helps families access the very best end-of-life care and financial support toward the cost of funeral expenses.
To mark the start of the Society’s year of support, an initial £1,000 cheque was presented to a representative of Julia’s House by the Society’s President, Graham Jeffery at the Hospice in Devizes.
