Society members voted for the Dementia Action Alliance Group as one of their chosen charities for 2018/19 at this year’s AGM which took place in June.
The Dementia Action Alliance, has over 150 members which consist of national organisations across England who connect, share best practice and take action on dementia. Everything they do is in partnership, and informed by people living with dementia, and those that care for them.
Sarah Williams, a member of a local DAA group, accepted a cheque for £1,000 from Society Vice-President, Graham Jeffery.
A spokesperson for the Society said, “We are delighted that the DAA group have been selected to receive support from the Society this year. So many of our members, colleagues and customers have relatives or friends who are affected by this debilitating condition. Local DDAs help to raise awareness of the condition and identify actions that employers, service providers and local community groups can introduce to help dementia sufferers cope with the condition.”
