Avalon School was another beneficiary of the Carrier Bag Charging Levy. The school has been raising money for a hydrotherapy pool to benefit disabled people and the £1,000 donation from the Society will help towards the target of over £1 million pounds required to build this facility. The school are well on their way with a total of £923,000 already raised towards this much needed resource. The Hydro Pool will not only benefit the pupils but adults and children in the local community with life-limiting conditions.
Pupils gathered at the cheque presentation ceremony whereby Director, Derek Roberts, handed over the £1,000 cheque. The pupils used the occasion to practice their ‘interview handshakes and communication skills’ on Derek who complimented them on their performance!
