Fromefield Co-operative are proud to announce the success of their Charity Fundraiser for three of Frome’s fantastic care homes, of which are Rowden House, Frome Nursing Home (Styles Hill) and Catherine House.
The store located on Rodden Road, raised £233.30 for each of these care homes over the summer. The £700 collated sum shows just how much customers bought into this fundraiser.
To celebrate 150 years of the Radstock Co-operative Society, Fromefield decided to get into World Cup fever earlier this year by decorating the shop in a football theme and hosted multiple games for customers to get involved in- all the money going went to the care homes.
Games included ‘Guess the Players Face’ showing England football stars past and present, along with a game guessing how many chocolate footballs were in a jar on the tills. Prizes here were Co-operative vouchers and the whole jar of chocolate footballs!
Our star prize of a £70 donated hamper went to the winner of the ‘Lucky Square’ on the football pitch game. All these games were very well participated in and showed great community spirit to raise money for a very worthwhile cause.
The care homes have now received their money when coming to meet Fromefield manager Zach Cutting and his team on the 17th October, and they all explained what they’ll us the money for.
Catherine House said that the money will be used towards going on two trips to Longleat this Christmas to see the Festival of Light, meanwhile Rowden House are going to spend the money on resident’s amenities.
Frome Nursing Home also thanks Fromefield for the fundraised donation, and they stated: “When somebody comes to live with us, we gather their life history in order to understand what has been meaningful in their lives, in order to make their days purposeful”- the money received will be spent on items to enable them to fulfill this.
