The Old Bakery Artists, a diverse group of local artists have been granted space within the Radco store to showcase and sale a range of creative works from fashion and textile designer makers, ceramic artists, painters, illustrators and sculptors. In addition, the internationally renowned 'Snug Foxes' who produce beautiful bespoke fashion items using knitting and crochet as well as soft toys, Christmas decorations and the world-famous Somerset Goddesses are available. The group has been established for approximately 20 years and exhibits at many west country locations throughout the year.
Don Morris, chief executive, Radstock Co-operative Society said, “We view this unique venture as a community project in which we can support local artistic and creative talent to reach a new audience within our Radco store. One of the additional advantages is that we will be donating a significant proportion of any revenue earned to our community charities. We welcome both existing and new customers to our store to explore the works of the Old Bakery Artists and at the same time take advantage of what the other departments have to offer including our extensive food hall, Dorothy Perkins, Burtons, Bon Marche, Woods gifts, Rectella Textiles etc."
