YMCA Mendip are delighted to have been chosen as a nominated charity of the Radstock Co-operative Society for 2017. A shortlist of charities were chosen by board and presented to members to vote on in June. As a result, YMCA Mendip were selected as a recipient of a £1100 donation and further support over the course of the coming year.
Jeremy Fricker (pictured right) and Don Morris from the Radstock Co-operative Society visited the team at YMCA Mendip to present the cheque to Senior Fundraiser Karen Collins.
To be considered for the financial donation, applications were to contain relevant background information relating to the charity and details of the positive impact on the local community. YMCA Mendip deliver a range of services, with an emphasis on homelessness, housing, youth work provision and information, advice & guidance. The money donated will help to continue their work in creating supportive, inclusive and energising communities, and supporting young people so they can truly belong, contribute and thrive.
This year, YMCA Mendip are celebrating 125 years of supporting young people in our community. To mark this achievement, a celebratory event is being held at Wells Cathedral on Saturday 21st October at 2pm. Entry to the service is free and open to everyone. If you would like to attend, please send your RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
