The Society once again provided the lunch for the annual Miners’ Reunion held at the Radstock Museum on 4th September 2017. The event was attended by 45 former miners who worked at several of the pits in the Somerset Coalfield, including Norton Hill, Kilmersdon and Writhlington (which were amongst the last to close). This year's event was the 29th Reunion, all of which has been hosted in Radstock Museum (since 1999) or in its earlier location at Barton Meade Farm in Haydon.
Michael Eavis attended the Reunion in his role as President of the Somerset & District Miners Welfare Trust and Graham Jeffrey, Vice President, represented the Society.
The event is organised by the Miners Welfare Trust in association with Radstock Museum and in particular by one of the Museum volunteers, Julie Dexter. The Miners Welfare Trust is looking forward to a special celebration to mark the 30th Annual Miners Reunion in September 2018.
