Part-time Accounts Assistant

Location: Finance Department, Head Office, Radstock

Rate of Pay: Up to £11.50 ph depending on experience

25 Hours per Weeek

Job Overview

We are looking for a part time Accounts Assistant to work 25 hours over 5 days in this busy head office function.

You will support the Finance Manager with the accurate and timely maintenance of a complete set of financial accounts and perform a variety of other administrative tasks to support the Finance team.

You will need to be a team player, with good communication skills both written and spoken and be willing to undertake a variety of administrative duties.  You will be numerate with good keyboard skills and be familiar with Outlook, Excel and Word. 

Duties will include some or all of the following:

  • Contribute to the production of the management accounts and reports at Period End as directed by the Finance Manager
  • Creating and importing journals into the Accounts System
  • Carrying out the banking of cash/cheques on a regular basis at Radco store
  • Maintaining the sales ledger, including ensuring invoices are sent and paid in a timely manner.
  • Manage petty cash and postage stamps adhering strictly to the financial controls.
  • Support the stock-taking process and provide assistance for the audit.
  • To enter purchase invoices onto accounting system.
  • Dealing with queries on invoices by contacting the suppliers
  • Assist with filing of invoices
  • General administration including post, stationery ordering, photocopying, archiving, telephone handling, email etc

Location/Store – Shepton Mallet Community Store

Job Ref No: – 10/17

Contract Type – Permanent

Rate of pay £7.32 per hour

Monday 6.30 am – 11.30 am

Tuesday 9.00 am – 3.00 pm

Thursday 12.30 pm – 5.00 pm

Sunday 9.30 am – 2.00 pm

20 hours

These will include evenings and weekends

(working schedules are non-contractual and are subject to change according to the needs of the business)

Job Overview

We are looking to add to our team of dedicated and highly efficient customer service assistants. 

Applicant will need to demonstrate an outgoing and friendly personality with the ability to communicate and connect with customers.  Experience of working in a customer facing or retail environment will be an advantage.  You will also need to be flexible in terms of working hours and willing to work additional hours as and when required to cover busy/peak trading periods and staff absence/holidays.

So if you are passionate about customer service, a good team player, flexible and adaptable and are willing to undertake the full range of retail duties from till operation, bake off operation and shelf filling, then we want to hear from you.

Duties will include some or all of the following:

  • Instore Bakery duties
  • Stock replenishment, stock rotation, ordering & stock taking
  • Assisting with deliveries including manual handling duties
  • Date & temperature checking, dealing with price reductions
  • POS, price-checking, country of origin etc
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy store and performing regular cleaning routines
  • Till operation including processing debit/credit card payments, cash back, lottery, PayPoint transactions, Post office transactions, refunds, dividend points, ID checking for sale of age-restricted products etc
  • Serving customers and attending to customers’ needs
  • Manual handling capability is an essential requirement for this job in order to assist with deliveries and stock replenishment.
